In February 2017 Dr Henrietta Hughes the National Freedom To Speak Up Guardian agreed to publish her newsletters, which had commenced in December 2016 but had not been published:
https://minhalexander.com/2017/02/08/newspeak-at-the-national-guardians-office/
Newsletters for December 2016, February 2017 and March 2017 were subsequently published.
However, two of these (December 2016 and February 2017 issues) have subsequently been removed from the CQC website.
I will inform the National Guardian about this and post the full collection of National Guardian newsletters here until such time as a full record is restored on the CQC website.

The guardians received Lanyards so that ‘they could be seen on the floor’.
What an odd request.

I have now had the opportunity to read these newsletters.
I am enraged.
Whilst I continue to wait, in pain, for my promised NHS specialist appointment and MRI scan, I can see where at least some of the health service’s funds are going.
It is the level of unawareness that is so shocking. Does no one see that, what is being described within these newsletters is evidence of its completely self-serving, self-congratulating and self-promoting, bureaucratic motives? Nothing whatsoever relevant to addressing the reasons for the endemic incompetencies and worse that is at the root of the reason for whistleblowing?
In fact, one of the reasons for having to whistleblow is the unawareness – either deliberate through corruption, or incidental through ignorance – of the management.
And here we have the management congratulating itself for attracting funds to set up yet another bolt-on body that is designed not to achieve anything that will benefit patients or staff who are dedicated to their vocation.
Can you guess what I hope happens to those responsible and their wretched lanyards?
In the meantime, I thank Dr A.
Zara.

🙂 Nothing more severe than a case of lanyard chafe I hope Zara. But I agree that the impression is one of a culture-bound bubble.
